Half-duplex networks

• If the medium is being used, hosts must delay transmission.


• If two or more hosts transmits, collision occurs.


• Hosts that detect the collision sends jam signals to all other hosts.


• Each hosts stop transmission and back-off algorithm apply to every host to wait for random amount of time to retransmit.
