Network latency
- NIC delay is the amount of time for a source NIC to transmit voltages on to the wire and the time for destination NIC to interpret the voltages. 1 microseconds.
- Propagation delay is the amount of time for voltage signals travel through the cables. Longer cables longer propagation delay.
- Routing delay which are the amount of time a layer1, layer2, layer3 devices takes to route.
